Magnificent Minibeasts

Over the past few weeks we have been learning about animals, but have been looking at minibeasts in Forest School. Today we made minibeasts using clay and natural resources. Children used the words that they had learnt such as exoskeleton, arachnids invertebrates.

Caterpillar Capers!

Earlier this week, we took a rather exciting delivery of five live caterpillars. We will be observing them as they grow over time and noticing any changes. At the moment they seem rather docile but no doubt that will change! All the food they require is in the bottom of their container and we hope that we can manage to release them all one their lifecycle is almost complete.

Today, we have been busy hunting for minibeasts and looking at different minibeasts. We discussed where they were found as well as the sorts of places that minibeasts like for their habitat. After that, we build a little home for them.
