Welcome to Trawden Forest Primary School

Our Vision

(Based upon the views of Parents, Governors, Staff, Pupils and Members of our Community)

"To create a dynamic learning environment within an active community where all children feel happy, safe and valued as individuals and achieve their full potential in knowledge, skills and creativity".

Dear parents, carers, prospective parents and friends, welcome to our website. We hope you find the information useful as we look forward to another exciting year.

The individual success of every child in the school is at the heart of all we do. Our mission statement, school aims and policies support the desire to maintain our excellent ethos. We want all the children to have high self-esteem, a sense of belonging, to feel safe and secure, to reach their full potential, and, above all, to enjoy their school life at Trawden Forest.

We are keen that all our pupils have meaningful incentives to work hard and succeed and good behaviour, social skills and safety will always be high priority here at Trawden Forest. Our positive behaviour system ensures that the efforts of all pupils are acknowledged through 'Team Points', where individuals as well as teams are rewarded.

We offer a wide range of school clubs, including gardening, movie-making, French, crafts and a wide range of sports. Many of our pupils have the opportunity to compete in the Pendle School Sport Partnership league in netball, football, cricket, badminton and athletics.

We are located in a spectacular area of Pendle, overlooking Boulsworth Hill and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. Our school building dates back to the early 1900s and is in good condition. We have plenty of space for our pupils to enjoy including  two halls, a dining room, art room, IT suite, library and a large school field. We actively support our local community by being involved in festivals such as the annual Garden & Scarecrow Festival, by visiting the church, community centre and regularly visiting the library. The local community also use our school building for meetings and events and we offer Open Days throughout the year.

We very much value the support of our parents and carers working together with us to provide the best for your children and work hard to provide two-way communication between home and school. You can find out more about us through our newsletters which are posted fortnightly onto this website.

Our Mission Statement:

"To Grow Together in Knowledge and Creativity"

Our Mission Statement has been formed as a result of asking Parents, Children, Staff and Governors about their vision for our school. The most common themes such as growing and nurturing; gaining knowledge and learning; being creative and valuing individuality inspired us with our Statement.

A year 6 pupil also summed it up in 1 line:

"We are all different leaves from the same tree"
