Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to our website. We hope you find the information useful. We cannot include all information here but you can find out more about us through our newsletters which are posted fortnightly onto this website.

Trawden Forest Primary School is a small rural primary school where pupils are encouraged to show a caring attitude towards each other.

It is a school that strives to provide a safe, secure, inclusive caring environment where pupils, staff and visitors feel comfortable and where vulnerable groups are identified and receive targeted provision to ensure their presence, participation and achievement.

The school encourages pupils to develop academically, creatively and socially to the best of their ability by setting suitable learning challenges and responding to their diverse learning needs.

The staff endeavour to work together to provide opportunities for pupils to express themselves in a variety of ways throughout all curricular and non-curricular areas overcoming barriers to learning and assessment for individuals and groups of pupils.

The school vision is that of a team made up of pupils, teachers, teaching assistants, parents, governors, the LA and the local community working together for success.

At Trawden school we aim, in partnership with parents and guardians, to provide a high quality learning environment to help all children realise their full potential intellectually, creatively, physically and socially.

Our School

We are located in a spectacular area of Pendle, overlooking Boulsworth Hill and surrounded by the most beautiful countryside. Our school building dates back to the early 1900s and is in good condition. We have plenty of space for our pupils to enjoy including two halls, a dining room, art room, IT suite, library and a large school field. We actively support our local community by being involved in festivals such as the annual Garden & Scarecrow Festival, by visiting the church, community centre and regularly visiting the library. The local community also use our school building for meetings and events and we offer Open Days throughout the year.

We offer a wide range of school clubs, including gardening, film club and a wide range of sports. Many of our pupils have the opportunity to compete in the Pendle School Sport Partnership league in netball, football, cricket, badminton and athletics.
