Image of Bizarre Concoctions with Chef Simon

Today, Year 4 had a visit from Chef Simon (Freya's Dad), who is the executive chef at Bolton Stadium Hotel. He started by explaining we first eat with our eyes and then smell before tasting. 

He created some bizarre concotions for us to try... First, we tried cheese with honey and coffee. Suprisingly, this was delicious! 

Next, children tried to eat a strawberry with their nose pinched, before letting go mid chew to release the flavour. 

After this, the children tried strawberry with black pepper on the top to enhance the flavour... They were really impressed! 

One of the more surprising ones, was raspberry filled with balsamic vinegar... We first thought it was chocolate sauce, until we smelled it... It didn't smell the best, but it was yummy to eat! 

Finally, he had prepared a dessert for us to eat (and an extra couple for Mrs Stinchon and Miss Ridehalgh). This was a chocolate mousse, with freshly made quenelle whipped cream, a cookie and raspberry sauce. This is highly recommended by the children and adults!
