This week in Science, Year 2 have been learning all about materials and their properties. To put their knowledge to the test, the children were set a challenge: build a house for the Three Little Pigs using materials strong enough to survive the Big Bad Wolf’s blow (aka a hairdryer!), waterproof to keep them dry, and opaque so the wolf couldn’t see inside!
Using a selection of materials including wood, card, paper, and metal, each team carefully planned and constructed their houses. After some fantastic teamwork and thoughtful testing, the children decided that wood or bricks were the most suitable choices.
Little pig, little pig let me come in!
