This half-term, our Year 6 pupils have been exploring the vibrant world of David Hockney in their art lessons. They’ve been studying his bold use of colour and composition while developing their own skills as fantastic young artists. Using mixed media and focusing particularly on pencil sketching techniques such as hatching, shading, and cross-hatching, the children have produced some wonderful sample pieces that showcase their creativity and attention to detail. We can’t wait to see their own original designs inspired by Hockney’s style next time!
