Last weekend, on National Seed Swap Day, the Royal Horticultural Society held their Great Seed Swap at RHS Garden Wisley, and this week we had a little seed swap of our own at Trawden School!

A huge thank you to one of our Gardening Club members who brought in seeds saved from marigolds and beans her Grandad had grown last season. These have been added to seeds the children saved from our own growing area last year, including a variety of flowers and vegetables.

It was also lovely to welcome Bev from Trawden in Bloom, who received a gift of seeds from the school Gardening Club.  These flower seeds will be grown by the fantastic volunteers and planted around the village, helping Trawden bloom with colour throughout the summer months.

Saving and sharing seeds within school and the wider community is an important part of seed sustainability, helping children to understand where plants come from, encouraging reuse, and supporting locally adapted, resilient plants for future growing seasons.
