As part of our work on watercolours, Year 1 have been looking at the artist Paul Klee. We learned how he used colour and how he enjoyed abstract art.
We created our own versions of his work 'Cat and Bird'.
First we followed instructions to sketch the picture using lines and shapes.
Then we looked at our pictures before choosing the colours. Some children thought their cat looked angry, others cute, some sad.
The children painted their picture choosing colours to enhance the impression it gives.
We think they are A-MAZ-ING! I hope you agree.
