Yesterday, Year 3 had a fantastic morning learning all about the Romans with The History Man! It was a wonderful way to introduce our new history topic for this half term.
The children leant all about what life was like in Ancient Rome and about the legacy of the Roman Empire through a variety of exciting, hands-on activities. They explored Roman armour and weapons by dressing like a Roman soldier, learning how to fight with wooden swords and create the tortoise formation with their shields. They also used Roman tools to grind wheat into flour, explored how Roman forts were built and became archaeologists by discovering and identifying artefacts.
The children were so enthusiastic and threw themselves into every activity with confidence and determinaton. They are so excited to learn more about the Romans on our school trip on Tuesday!
A huge thank you to Adrian!
