We were incredibly proud to receive the prestigious 2026 Trevor Leese Award alongside our Schools Category Award! The Trevor Leese Award recognises an exceptional school in the North West for its outstanding gardening and environmental work, inspiring young gardeners and encouraging a love of plants and nature.
North West in Bloom celebrates horticultural achievement, environmental responsibility and community participation, values that run right through our school garden. From growing and sharing our harvests to caring for wildlife, making compost and building community connections, there is so much learning and enthusiasm behind everything we do.
To receive this award is a tremendous honour and a very special recognition of that journey.
Behind every seed sown, plant nurtured and harvest shared are children full of curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to get their hands dirty! Seeing their hard work recognised is something very special.
A huge thank you to our young gardeners, families and all the wonderful people, businesses and community groups who support our school garden. Your encouragement, generosity and practical help have helped us achieve so much.
It was also lovely to celebrate alongside our friends from Trawden in Bloom and see the village’s fantastic achievements recognised. A huge congratulations to everyone!
We’ll be bringing these awards back to school with enormous pride. Well done to all our wonderful young gardeners - you’ve helped make our school garden something very special!
