Year 3's Recycled Sunflower Pots!

For Earth Day, year 3 have been learning all about how we can look after our wonderful planet!

After discussing the dangers of plastic waste and what we can do to help reduce the impact of this on our world, we spent the afternoon reusing empty plastic bottles and giving them a new purpose. 

First we cut and decorated the plastic bottles, before taking them up to the field where we filled them with compost, planted sunflower seeds and watered them. 

The children have taken their plant pots home and promised to take very good care of them... We can't wait to see who's sunflower grows the tallest!
