Year 1 were very surprised yesterday to discover an unusual guest had arrived while they were rehearsing. Some children discovered a sleeping 'Stickman' in an empty box in class. We were puzzled as to how and why he was there. Tommy suggested he might have been blown from the family tree in the strong winds we have had. Ted thought he had lost his family. Ava decided he must have come in because he was cold. Freddie said that maybe he needed our help.
The children were all stimulated to do something - some drew pictures for him, others wrote letters to his family to say he was safe and a group of boys even tried to build a family tree for him to feel at home.
It must have worked because this morning we came in to find he had made a bed, stuck his pictures up and even sneaked biscuits and chocolates from the staffroom!
We will try our best to get him home for Christmas!
