Today, the children enjoyed a shared drawing session as part of our ‘All About Me’ topic. We began by talking about our homes and the people who live with us, before working together to create some wonderful drawings.

The children were very creative and used lots of mathematical language along the way, identifying shapes including circles, squares, triangles, rectangles and ovals within their pictures.

We also talked about the world around our homes, with the children noticing and discussing features such as roads, trees, grass, parks and lamp posts. It was lovely to hear them sharing their ideas, making connections to their own experiences and learning from one another.

A lovely session combining communication and language, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design.
